About The Position

LayerZero Power Systems LLC. is hiring an on-site Test Technician I in Streetsboro, Ohio, for the second shift. The company provides power distribution solutions for critical industries, with a primary focus on data centers. The technician implements test methods and procedures, uses test equipment and software, and supports testing of newly developed products and standard production equipment. The position includes pre-power-up inspections, functional testing up to 600VAC, burn-in and stress testing, troubleshooting assistance, minor assembly repairs, device setup, and completion of test documentation. Technicians follow established procedures, work independently on routine tasks, and report complex issues. The role requires physical activity such as standing for extended periods, bending, reaching, and kneeling.

The salary starts at $30 and includes shift differential pay. Requirements

• Hands-on experience operating electrical test equipment such as digital multimeters and current meters.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
• Proficiency in electrical assembly techniques and use of standard hand tools.
• Strong understanding of electronics and circuit-level troubleshooting methodologies.
• Experience with precision measurement tools and instrumentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and file management systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong attention to detail in technical documentation.
• Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, equivalent military electrical training, or at least two years of relevant experience performing electrical testing with voltage/current measurement equipment in the power systems industry.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with electrical component assembly, wiring, and system integration.
• Basic programming or scripting knowledge for device configuration or test automation.
• Working knowledge of electrical safety standards, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and proper PPE usage.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-power-up inspections of electrical and electronic equipment to ensure it is ready for testing.
• Conduct functional testing up to 600VAC, inspections, and basic testing of electrical and electronic equipment.
• Perform burn-in and stress testing to verify equipment performance and reliability.
• Assist with troubleshooting AC and DC power and control circuits up to 600V.
• Help complete minor repairs on control, power, and fiber optic assemblies, including wiring, crimping, and routing.
• Set up and assist with programming electronic devices using computer-based tools.
• Complete test reports and documentation using computers and written forms.
• Use hand tools, test equipment, and controls to complete assigned tasks.
• Follow established testing procedures and work instructions.
• Work independently on routine tasks and report complex issues.
