About The Position

The Test Technician I assists specialists with analysis, sample preparation, and corrosion chamber maintenance. The technician also conducts routine tests that require some data interpretation. The position is performed mostly in a laboratory setting and involves operating lab equipment and tools under supervision, following laboratory processes and test specifications, and maintaining laboratory, ISO, and safety procedures. Access to information subject to U.S. export controls under ITAR means the company will consider only U.S. Persons for this position.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 0–2 years of experience in a material testing laboratory environment.
• Basic technical acumen and the ability to follow laboratory processes and test specifications and perform routine tests.
• Ability to operate various types of laboratory equipment and tools with supervision.
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to follow direction and complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work across internal departments or functions.
• Working knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), laboratory ISO procedures, and process safety procedures.
• Must qualify as a U.S. Person under the stated ITAR requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct sample preparation and assist in performing tests.
• Gather data required for routine tests and interpret data for routine pass/fail tests.
• Troubleshoot and maintain laboratory equipment.
• Update chemical and equipment inventories.
• Use tools and technology to track work.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
