About The Position

The Test Technician independently performs electronic testing, advanced troubleshooting, and repair from the component level through final system acceptance. This role diagnoses complex failures, supports test fixture setup, maintains accurate documentation, and helps resolve recurring production and test issues.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent experience.
  • One to three years of experience testing, troubleshooting, and repairing digital and analog circuits preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and independently resolve non-routine technical issues.
  • Reliable attendance required.

Nice To Haves

  • Through-hole or surface-mount soldering experience.
  • Familiarity with IPC Class 2 and Class 3 specifications.
  • Proficiency using multimeters, oscilloscopes, or other test equipment.
  • Familiarity with Python, Linux, C, or C++.
  • Electronics manufacturing or assembly experience.

Responsibilities

  • Independently set up hardware and software for test procedures and assist operators with test fixture setup.
  • Apply knowledge of electronic circuitry, schematics, and test equipment to diagnose failed assemblies.
  • Perform component-level through system-level testing, including environmental and final acceptance testing.
  • Perform complex technical tests and diagnose issues effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Use computer applications and test equipment to complete testing and document results accurately.
  • Follow and maintain established test procedures; identify needed updates and communicate them to the appropriate partner.
  • Evaluate workmanship for acceptance or rejection based on specifications, including applicable IPC Class 2 and Class 3 requirements.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and repair customer boards and equipment with limited guidance.
  • Identify test fixture issues, enter repair requests, and provide information needed to support resolution.
  • Assess the impact of rework on printed circuit board reliability and the economic impact of continued troubleshooting.
  • Communicate technical issues, discrepancies, and improvement opportunities to supervisors, management, engineering, and production teams.
  • Protect company assets and perform other duties as assigned.
