About The Position

The Gas Test Room requires an individual to test 20+ engines per day. If an engine were to fail on the test stand, the individual is required to diagnose and problem-solve engine failures. They may also do minor repairs to a failed engine. This position requires utilizing a hoist to move the assembled engine (weighs 300 to 500 pounds), a torque wrench, and an impact gun to tighten bolts. The position requires an individual with strong mechanical, technical, and math skills. Works with hot steam from hot engines and hot engine oil.

Requirements

• Strong mechanical skills.
• Strong technical skills.
• Strong math skills.
• Ability to lift, bend, push, pull and move materials up to 50lbs.
• Ability to stand or walk an entire shift (approx. 8-10 hours).
• Ability to use handheld tools such as impacts, torque wrenches, hammer, drills.
• Standing: 8 hrs.
• Walking: 8 hrs.
• Sitting: 0
• Stooping (forward leaning): 1 hr.
• Reaching/Working Overhead: 1 hr.

Nice To Haves

• Prior mechanical experience.
• Prior gauging experience.
