About The Position

The University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) is seeking a Test Specialist to provide specialized support and on-site coordination for the administration of standardized examinations to university students in a testing/assessment center. This role also involves providing specialized support and coordination of alternate format document conversion for university students. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Any one or any combination totaling three (3) years (36 months) from the following categories: course work in education, behavioral sciences, social sciences, business administration or a closely related field, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent: 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months) Associate’s Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months) 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months) Bachelor’s Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months) work experience in test administration methods and techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Administer aptitude, achievement, and other educational measurements at either on-or off-campus locations.
  • Oversee the scanning of textbooks and other documents into software to convert scans and PDFs of course materials into various forms of alternative formats.
  • Plans and implements procedures for the maintenance and disposition of records, materials, and converted alternate formats.
  • Coordinates the distribution of alternate format materials to students.
  • Verse test day activities, including examinee check-in and identification, testing environment, test security, examinee conduct, and supervision of testing staff.
  • Coordinates the processing and submission of examinations for scoring to the appropriate faculty or department.
  • Confers with students and other interested parties (such as faculty, public school officials, and parents) regarding testing and document conversions, procedures, and policies.
  • Serves as liaison with other campus units to coordinate testing and document conversion services.
  • Represents testing and document conversion services at various meetings, open house, orientations, and to the general public.
  • Responsible for testing site arrangements, including room selection and selection and delivery of materials and/or equipment.
  • Train and supervises testing room supervisors and proctors.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
