We have an exciting opportunity for a Test Operator - Gravity Offloader to join our JETS II contract team at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. This role involves working in a team environment to assist in the setup, reconfiguration, and clean-up of test areas. The operator will be responsible for the startup and shutdown of systems following checklists, monitoring key performance indicators for safety, and being proficient with computerized checklists and emergency procedures. The position requires operating standard equipment, including hand tools and manual machine shop tools, and performing maintenance and operation of mechanical systems. This includes research, documentation, acquiring parts, repairing, and calibrating devices. The role also involves developing methods and procedures, preparing safety documentation, and writing materials for Test Readiness Reviews. Adherence to operating procedures, safety protocols, and the ability to visualize and solve practical problems are essential. The Test Operator will assist in preparing various test-related documents and maintaining calibration for facility equipment. The job requires working at elevated locations and performing necessary equipment maintenance, including preventive maintenance and repairs. Maintaining a neat, orderly, and safe work area, and identifying/correcting potential hazards are also key responsibilities.
