About The Position

This role is for a Test Lead focused on Automation. The position involves defining and implementing the overall automation strategy for the application under test, supporting continuous delivery and automation initiatives, and participating in code review meetings. The lead will provide guidance and support to testers and automation engineers on test approach, framework design, script development, execution, and results analysis. Key responsibilities include analyzing test results, communicating findings, supporting defect resolution, staying current with industry trends, identifying opportunities for process improvement, and influencing stakeholders to adopt automation practices that enhance efficiency, quality, and speed in software development.

Requirements

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in software test automation.
• Strong proficiency in Java.
• Strong proficiency in Selenium.
• Strong proficiency in Cypress with JavaScript.
• Strong proficiency in BDD and TDD methodologies.
• Strong proficiency in Cucumber and Gherkin.
• Strong proficiency in CI/CD tools and practices.
• Strong experience in API automation using tools such as REST Assured or Karate.
• Proven experience in both front-end and backend automation.
• Strong knowledge of databases such as DB2, MongoDB, or Snowflake.
• Experience writing and executing SQL queries.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all management levels.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with file handling in Java.
• AWS certification or hands-on experience with AWS services.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent experience may also be considered.
• An AI-oriented mindset, with experience using AI tools to improve the productivity, efficiency, and accuracy of software testing activities.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement the overall automation strategy for the application under test.
• Support the application team in continuous delivery and automation initiatives.
• Participate in code review meetings and contribute to maintaining coding standards.
• Provide guidance and support to testers and automation engineers in test approach and framework design, automation script development, test execution, and results analysis and reporting.
• Analyze test results, communicate findings, and support defect resolution activities.
• Stay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices in software test automation.
• Identify opportunities to improve existing automation frameworks and testing processes.
• Influence stakeholders to adopt automation practices that improve the efficiency, quality, and speed of software development.
