This opportunity resides with All-Domain Operations (ADO), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. All-Domain Operations comprises multi-domain operations, platforms and logistics, and intelligence operations. Summary The Test & Evaluation (T&E) Engineer applies expert knowledge of test planning, execution, analysis, and reporting to assess the performance and readiness of Foreign Military Sales (FMS) systems, subsystems, and equipment prior to delivery to the Host Nation. This role directs and conducts T&E activities to verify system performance, validate security architecture updates, and ensure capability variants meet design and operational requirements. The engineer develops test and validation plans, conducts lab‑based assessments, analyzes test data, troubleshoots issues, and provides actionable recommendations to the Security Cooperation Office (SCO) and Mission Partners. Additionally, the position supports the development and execution of Government test plans, including joint security validation efforts conducted with U.S. Government test facilities. Requirements

  • 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
  • Professional experience in Test & Evaluation, system verification, or system performance assessment.
  • Experience developing and executing test plans, validation procedures, and test methodologies.
  • Ability to analyze complex test data and translate results into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with experience resolving hardware and software integration issues.
  • Familiarity with system security performance testing and validation activities.
  • Ability to develop detailed technical reports and documentation.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to interface with Mission Partners, SCO personnel, engineers, and test‑facility teams.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in joint Government‑contractor test environments.
  • Must possess and maintain a Secret clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of FMS processes, system acceptance requirements, or international partner system delivery (preferred but not required).

Responsibilities

  • Apply T&E processes to design, plan, execute, analyze, and report on test activities supporting FMS systems and components.
  • Direct and conduct testing to verify system performance, including evaluation of security‑related capabilities and variant configurations.
  • Document updates, refinements, and changes to initial equipment and security architecture as system designs mature.
  • Develop comprehensive test and validation plans for systems, subsystems, and components.
  • Conduct lab‑based performance and quality tests to validate component functionality and product reliability.
  • Analyze test data, interpret results, and communicate findings with recommendations to the SCO and Mission Partners.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software issues uncovered during testing.
  • Validate and implement product solutions, documenting all findings and results in technical reports.
  • Develop, refine, and document improved test methodologies and best practices.
  • Support the development and implementation of Government Test Plans, including the security test and validation approach executed jointly with contractor and U.S. Government personnel.
  • Additional duties as assigned or required.
