The Operations Engineering Test Specialist Co-Op will participate in a complex and exciting manufacturing project environment, learning many aspects of the manufacturing process and contributing to the development of creative and innovative solutions. Overall, these projects are components of systems supporting homeland and missile defense strategies and may involve products currently in production, those in design and those transitioning to production. Opportunity to become an Electrical Test Engineer with strong technical and communication skills to take responsibility for Operations Test in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Here at Raytheon, our Operations Test Team ensures product and process quality with an emphasis on Product Compliance, Customer Satisfaction and Continuous Improvement. As an Electrical Test Engineer embedded within the Production Value Stream you'll be a high-value participant on cross-functional teams, utilizing circuitry skills and expertise to identify issue resolutions and also frequently interfacing with internal customers. The organization is heavily aligned with Six Sigma principles; hence a key component of this co-op will be the completion of a project leading to Six Sigma Specialist certification. Additionally, the co-op will work independently reviewing business systems and implementing new techniques within production areas. The co-op will have broad-based exposure to various business areas including Performance Excellence, Test and Troubleshooting, Integrated Supply Chain, Hardware Quality and Production Engineering.

Requirements

  • This position is for an intern actively enrolled in a Bachelor or master's degree program and pursuing a major in electrical engineering, computer engineering or systems engineering
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

  • 3.0 cumulative GPA desired

Responsibilities

  • Performing data analysis of test results of PWB electrical parameters using Microsoft Excel to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Providing production floor support to address process and compliance issues from all levels.
  • Working with Electrical Test Equipment (oscilloscopes and multi-meters)
  • Utilizing Microsoft Office (VBA programming)
  • Experience working with digital and electronic circuits
  • Facilitating cross-functional teams for improvement activities (e.g. 6-sigma, lean manufacturing)
  • Using Pareto analysis, cause/effect diagrams, process mapping, and/or other performance analysis tools
