About The Position

At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We’re working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight. As part of a hardworking team, interns work directly with Blue engineering teams on projects in support of our business units. Test Engineering Internship Projects–Our interns gain hands-on test experience! Your project may include design, analysis, test planning and operation of test systems for testing fluid, propulsion, mechanical, avionics software, structures, GNC and electronic systems. Some projects will involve working at a test stand and will include working at heights.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program and have at least one semester or quarter of school remaining after the internship.
  • Completed at least one year of full-time coursework post high school graduation at the time of application (obtained sophomore standing).
  • Available to work full time for 15 weeks while not concurrently enrolled in coursework.
  • Strong written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong interest in Blue Origin's mission.

Nice To Haves

  • Test environment experience.
  • Fluid Mechanics, thermodynamics and/or propulsion systems.
  • Component test, FEA, CFD.
  • MATLAB or Simulink.
  • Programming languages including Python, C/C++ .
  • Relevant internship/co-op and academic project experience that demonstrate development of both technical skills relevant to the internship as well as leadership qualities.
  • Hands-on project experience.
  • Co-curricular engagement.
