About The Position

Snap Inc. is a technology company focused on improving the way people live and communicate through its camera products. The Spectacles team is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what a camera can be, specifically by overlaying computing on the real world with products like Next Generation Spectacles. We are seeking a Test Engineer to join this innovative team, contributing to the development and manufacturing of advanced camera and optical sensor technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in optics, physics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in testing of cameras or optical sensors for consumer electronics.
• Ability to travel internationally 15% of the time.
• Experience with programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, and/or C/C++.
• Strong data analysis and visualization skills using tools such as JMP, Python, or MATLAB.
• Strong understanding of testing methodologies and standards for cameras and fundamental understanding of optical sensing technologies.
• Knowledge of standard quality methodologies such as GR&R and SPC.

Nice To Haves

• PhD or master’s degree in optics, physics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science or related field.
• Experience developing and maintaining factory test and calibration stations for high-volume manufacturing.
• Experience with camera calibration and test techniques for computer vision, sensor fusion, active and passive depth sensing, and/or biometric sensing.
• Experience with robotics or instrument control automation.

Responsibilities

• Define test and calibration methods for cameras and other optical sensors, including algorithm development and test station hardware definition.
• Drive test station manufacturing with third-party vendors.
• Support tester bring-up in collaboration with manufacturing partners.
• Write and maintain tester documentation.
• Review GR&R data.
• Troubleshoot and debug test stations and test software and firmware releases.
• Support failure analysis through review of test data in collaboration with camera design engineers.
