About The Position

Flex is seeking a Test Engineer in Austin, TX, to support their teams in building innovative products. The Test Engineer will be a key technical lead and individual contributor, driving the launch and ongoing support of high-power AI/ML, GPU, and hardware accelerator-based server, storage, and networking systems. This role is responsible for test process development for assembly and integration, ensuring quality, performance, and safety across New Product Introduction (NPI) and sustaining production. The engineer will design procedures, automate test execution, analyze data for continuous improvement, and leverage expertise to deliver robust end-customer solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in CS, CE, EE/Electronics, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in failure analysis and system-level testing within a high-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash).
  • Advanced Linux command-line operations.
  • Hardware/network troubleshooting including the ability to train others on Linux fundamentals.
  • Expertise in computer and server hardware/software integration, diagnostics, and repair - particularly within a manufacturing or high-level assembly environment.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical analysis and its application to data-driven troubleshooting and decision-making.
  • End-to-end development of the test operations process, including SOPs, work instructions, process flowcharts, operational activities, and destination routing.

Nice To Haves

  • Performing hands-on debugging, validation, and system-level failure analysis of next-generation server and rack systems within a high-mix, high-ambiguity manufacturing environment.
  • Strong Linux CLI proficiency, hardware integration expertise, and advanced troubleshooting skills across L6, and L10, test stages.
  • Ability to train others on Linux basics.
  • System architecture understanding—how liquid cooling integrates with overall system testing.
  • Intermediate programming in Bash and Python.
  • Leak detection/prevention techniques and best practices.
