About The Position

Moog Space and Defense Group is seeking a Test Engineer to develop and validate test procedures and methods, support production troubleshooting, and monitor test equipment performance. The role reports to the Test Development Manager and is based onsite in Blacksburg, Virginia. The position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics; Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering may also be considered with a strong electrical background.
• Technical literacy with electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Proficiency with electrical test equipment and diagnostic tools, such as oscilloscopes and multimeters.
• Ability to troubleshoot and isolate hardware failures.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of problem-solving frameworks and root cause and corrective action (RCCA) efforts.
• Knowledge of programming structures and algorithms.
• Experience with LabVIEW or Python.

Responsibilities

• Develop written test and inspection procedures from customer specifications and drawing packages.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to validate test methods and verify the accuracy of test instructions.
• Support production personnel in resolving technical issues during manufacturing, isolating causes of test failures, and providing feedback on proposed solutions.
• Perform test equipment gauge repeatability and reproducibility (GRR).
• Monitor test equipment performance and support root cause and corrective action (RCCA) for test anomalies.
