Northrop Grumman•Rocket Center, WV
•$59,900 - $108,100•Onsite

About The Position

Northrop Grumman's Defense Systems sector is currently seeking a Test Engineer Level 1/2 with background in Computer Science/Electrical to support our growing business in our Rocket Center, West Virginia location. This position will be located on-site at our Rocket Center, WV location. No remote work is available for this position. In the Test Engineer role, the winning candidate will ultimately review and verify static rocket motor test designs/methodologies, understand and maintain current deployed equipment as well as evaluate hardware health and obsolescence. You will monitor the area equipment for potential failure trends, investigating new and developing technologies while collaborating with management on its potential implementation. Safety is an uncompromised core value within our team and an appreciation for the products tested here is a must. The role includes both specialized code and general programming through DAS (Digital Acquisition System) software, excel macro/functions, MATLAB code and processing, and more as technologies evolve. Part of the role’s opportunities include performing electrical schematic reviews, implementing changes needed to maintain peak operational efficiency and reviewing area processes for improvement. Post test data review to understand and validate test execution is part of everyday experiences. An understanding of electronic circuits with special emphasis on Wheatstone bridge theory as it’s applied to calibration techniques is a preferred qualification. In our Testing Group, you will be able to exercise scientific methods as you evaluate tests, work with and understand equipment, advocate for and deploy software/hardware improvements, and collaborate with other Engineers. A hands-on deep curiosity for applied sciences, a multi-disciplinary approach to problem solving and a thirst for a breadth of knowledge will serve our next candidate for years to come! We value teamwork, continuous improvement, solving complex problems, collaborating with diverse Engineering Disciplines, and making a definitive impact through achievements.
