  • Hands-on experience with HPE HPC platforms, including industry-standard servers, storage, and networking products.
  • Strong working knowledge of Linux operating systems, including Red Hat, SLES, and Ubuntu.
  • Understanding of network topologies, switches, and configurations.
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills for complex issues in collaboration with engineering and test teams.
  • Ability to work effectively in a global, culturally diverse engineering team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts, issues, and recommendations effectively.
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot system-configuration problems and work independently.
  • Ability to support remote test execution and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Install, rack, stack, cable, configure, and prepare HPE HPC and AI systems, networking, storage, accelerators, and related infrastructure for engineering and validation use.
  • Safely disconnect, decommission, unrack, and prepare retired or reassigned equipment for storage, shipment, reuse, or disposal according to applicable processes.
  • Stage lab systems with approved operating-system images, firmware, software, and configuration settings based on documented project and platform requirements.
  • Perform initial troubleshooting of hardware, firmware, operating-system, network-connectivity, and system-configuration issues; document findings, escalate unresolved issues, and track them through resolution.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and auditable inventory and hardware-lifecycle records for systems, components, spare parts, cables, and other lab assets.
  • Conduct physical inventory reviews and reconcile discrepancies among equipment, asset records, storage locations, and tracking systems.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound hardware shipments, including receiving, inspection, packaging, labeling, documentation, tracking, and delivery confirmation for domestic and global destinations.
  • Organize and maintain secure on-site and off-site storage areas so equipment and components are identifiable, traceable, protected, and readily available.
  • Support day-to-day operation and administration of HPC lab and data-center infrastructure, including system availability, lab networks, remote access, power, cooling, rack space, cabling, and workspace readiness.
  • Monitor lab conditions and promptly report or escalate infrastructure, safety, security, power, cooling, access, or compliance concerns that could affect personnel, equipment, or engineering schedules.
  • Enable local and remote engineering teams by preparing systems, validating basic connectivity and access, coordinating equipment availability, and assisting with configuration-related troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with R&D, IST, platform, core engineering, program management, facilities, logistics, and other partner teams to communicate status, resolve operational dependencies, and align work with project priorities.
  • Maintain complete and audit-ready service records, asset documentation, shipping records, tickets, configuration information, and other required operational evidence.
  • Follow HPE lab safety, security, quality, change-control, and equipment-handling requirements, including applicable ISO 9001 processes.
  • Identify and recommend practical improvements to lab workflows, asset controls, system-staging practices, documentation, automation, and operational efficiency.
  • Provide concise status updates on completed activities, upcoming work, blockers, risks, inventory concerns, and issues requiring engineering or management attention.
  • Perform assigned lab-support activities independently with limited supervision, seeking appropriate authorization before changes outside established procedures or approved configurations.
