About The Position

This position is for candidates interested in interviewing at the September 2026 Electronic Warfare Engineering Hiring Event. The role involves designing and developing test solutions and writing mission-critical test software for Next Generation Electronic Warfare Systems Products and Solutions. BAE Systems is experiencing growth and requires engineers experienced in developing automated test software solutions. The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter, capable of completing assignments with minimal oversight, and serving as a subject matter expert and technical lead. They should be able to assume lead roles as needed, quickly adapt to changing priorities in a production environment, and provide technical status to management or direction to team members, while also interfacing with other engineering disciplines. The role requires US citizenship due to government contract requirements and will be a hybrid work format, splitting time between onsite and remote work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering, or related field, and 2+ years related work experience or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • Proficient in developing and integrating automation test measurement software for a production environment.
  • Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of experience or Master's Degree with 1+ year of experience.
  • Proficient in National Instruments Test Stand.
  • Familiarity with RF test measurement methodology and development with experience automating at least one of the following: S-Parameter measurements, Spectral Measurements, Power Measurements, RF Stimulus.
  • Familiarity implementing digital communication protocols with experience automating at least one of the following: MLVDS, RS232/485/422, PCI/PCIe, JTAG, SPI, I2C.
  • Familiarity with C, C++, C#, VB, Python.
  • Experience with Keysight Network Analyzers (PNA-X) and Signal/Spectrum Analyzers (MXA, PSA, CXA).
  • Experience with PXI based instrumentation.
  • Experience with National Instruments FlexRIO (LabVIEW FPGA/VHDL/Verilog a plus).
  • Experience with JTAG/Boundary project development in an ATE solution.
  • Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence).
  • Experience with Git and Tortoise Git.
  • Experience with Earned Value and Project Management.
  • Experience with UNIX, Linux, VxWorks, BASH, VMWare.
  • Experience with CREO, Cadence, AutoCAD.
  • Technical or team leadership experience.
  • Good communication skills including interpersonal communication and team communication.
  • Takes initiative and has a closure-oriented nature.
  • Experience with SW version control and bug tracking tools.
  • US citizenship status required.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop test solutions.
  • Write test software.
  • Develop automated test software solutions.
  • Assume a full or partial lead role as circumstances dictate.
  • Quickly and dynamically switch focus to accommodate daily activities of an engineering team supporting a production environment.
  • Provide accurate technical status to program management.

  • Develop test software according to best coding standards using proprietary NI Test Stand libraries and executives.

  • Manage the test solution development life cycle, including requirements review, test plan creation, design reviews, coding, integration of test SW with test stands, and sell-off to customers.
  • Perform test solution software and hardware integration, debug & troubleshooting.
  • Develop automated test solutions for electronic assemblies in a production factory environment.
