About The Position

Multimatic’s Test Department is looking for a Test Engineer to support the development and validation of new product. In this role, you’ll work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to evaluate components and full vehicle systems, contributing directly to how products perform in real-world conditions. You’ll be part of a team that support Multimatic’s full product portfolio through durability, performance, environmental, NVH, and material testing to confirm that designs meet functional, reliability, and customer requirements. Individual responsibilities will focus on specific disciplines and technologies, with opportunities to build expertise in defined areas while contributing to the broader validation effort across the team. This position is well suited for someone who takes a hands-on approach to engineering and enjoys working directly with hardware, instrumentation, and test systems to solve technical challenges.

  • 1-3 years of experience in automotive testing, co-op/internship acceptable
  • Solid understanding of automotive systems, components, and test methodologies.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with engineers, customers, and suppliers.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, adapt to changing priorities, and deliver results in a fast-paced team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with data acquisition (DAQ) systems, including associated transducers and instrumentation

  • Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation, including signal processing techniques (time-domain and frequency-domain analysis, filtering), using tools such as Excel, Siemens Testlab, NI DIAdem, and MATLAB
  • Familiarity with measurement system analysis, including Gauge R&R and statistical process control (SPC).
  • Experience with configuring and operating test control systems and software, such as MTS MPT, MTS RPC, LabVIEW, and dSPACE
  • Working knowledge of control systems, including pneumatic, servo-hydraulic, and electric test systems.
  • Experience with 3D CAD modelling, engineering drawings (GD&T), and tolerance stack-ups

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning and execution of test programs to validate the functional, performance, and reliability of automotive systems
  • Prepare and conduct testing by setting up, configuring, and calibrating required equipment and instrumentation
  • Design and develop test fixtures and systems to support testing activities, where required
  • Analyze test data, identify issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical problems
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of test methods and procedures to enhance efficiency and data quality
  • Document and communicate test methods, results, and observations to support decision-making and knowledge sharing
