About The Position

DPCG is currently seeking a Test Engineer to help support the VRE/FCMT Project. The Federal Case Management Tool (FCMT) system is a web-based application that supports multiple Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) programs. The Service Member information is transferred a from Veterans Affairs Department Repository, and Department of Defense (DoD) personnel record system, to FCMT during the client registration process. FCMT provides non-clinical case management tracking, including goal documentation, progress monitoring, client tracking, performance measurement, and staff workload monitoring.

Requirements

  • Must have experience working with developers, end users and organizations to create test plans and test scripts.
  • Ability to track problems and reports on errors that are identified.
  • Must have experience with configuring necessary hardware and operating environments as needed to complete assigned testing.
  • Comprehensive technical expertise on IT products, operating systems, software, hardware, systems and networks and specialized environments.
  • Must have experience in writing or assisting in the development of test plans and test procedures.
  • Ability to manage the defect database under the guidance of senior QA engineers.
  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or other technical related field. An additional 8 years of experience can be substituted for the degree.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance activities and implement maintenance upgrades to the VR&E application/system including testing, deployment, production, and configuration management support.
  • Test and implement VA generated IT security alerts, mandated security patches, emergency Congressional, Court, or White House mandates as well as maintain existing VA developed code.
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and perform regression-testing activities including test case and test script development.
  • Work with the VR&E representative to ensure release code is accepted.
  • Ensure deficiency reporting is logically organized and traces the status of each identified deficiency from initial identification through acceptance testing of its correction/resolution.
  • Coordinate with test sites and other team participants to plan test events.
  • Create reports.
