About The Position

The Space Group under Radio Frequency Semiconductors releases products for use in the Aerospace market. As a Test Engineer – Radiation Effects, you will be responsible for evaluating ADI devices for radiation performance to support the release of these devices as Aerospace Products. This evaluation includes testing for Displacement Damage (DD), Total Ionizing Dose (TID), and Single Event Effects (SEE). This role is very adaptive based on the wide variety of devices in the ADI portfolio: RF products (Beamformers, Amplifiers, RF switches, detectors, mixers with integrated PLL/VCO Amplifiers), Voltage References, Power, Data Converters, etc. Strong communications skills are important due to this role in interacting with Aerospace customers directly concerning radiation performance and testing of devices. This role is a radiation-focused test engineering position. In addition, when radiation-related activities are not actively scheduled, the test engineer will support standard test development projects, taking ownership from concept through production release.

Requirements

  • BSEE preferred with strong programming skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to solve complex problems through the design of appropriate experiments and analysis of complex data
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills toward the capture of aggressive schedule demands
  • Strong teamwork ability within multi-discipline and multi-cultural environments
  • Lab experience using test equipment including spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators.
  • RF measurements including S-Parameters, IP3, P1dB, I/Q Baseband, Mixer LO nulling
  • Working knowledge of and/or experience with LabVIEW, Python, Visual BASIC, HTML, and/or C/C++
  • Prior programming experience with ATE platforms a plus (NI Labview and Test Stand, Roos Cassini, Teradyne Ultra FLEX).

Responsibilities

  • Manage Total Ionizing Dose testing (High Dose Rate and Low Dose Rate) for released products and products under development.
  • Test Migration - Migrate test from older test platforms to test platforms available at radiation test facility.
  • Single Event Effects (SEE) testing - Python scripts to program, monitor, and mitigate device upsets during Heavy Ion or Proton testing.
  • Lab - Automate lab equipment and create programs to automate the compilation of data and create reports.
  • Laser Scan devices to detect sensitive transistors on the die that will require design modifications to improve the device radiation performance.
  • Development of automated test capability including hardware fixtures design and software development

Benefits

  • medical, vision and dental coverage
  • 401k
  • paid vacation, holidays, and sick time
