About The Position

Choice Hotels, one of the world’s largest lodging franchisors, has an exciting new opportunity as our TE3 (Test Engineer III) in Test Engineering. The Test Engineering is the team that is responsible for the quality of the choice hotel’s products we develop and deliver. As a key member of our Test Engineering department, you will be responsible to ensure the reliability, functionality, and quality of software systems and applications used in various aspects of the hospitality sector with primary focus on enhances guest experience, continuous improvement, and operational efficiency. This role is not eligible for sponsorship AND is four days onsite hybrid at our N. Scottsdale office.

Requirements

• 6+ years of software testing or quality engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies and software development lifecycle.
• Experience in testing web, API, database, and integrated enterprise applications.
• Experience in working in Agile development environments.
• Proficiency with test management and defect tracking tools.
• Strong SQL and data validation skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Self-driven, accountable, and able to work independently.
• Continuous learner with a passion for improving technical and testing skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in Finance and/or Hospitality domains is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead testing activities for medium to large projects and strategic initiatives.
• Develop test plans, test cases, test data, and testing approaches based on business and technical requirements.
• Execute functional, integration, regression, end-to-end, API, and data validation testing.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and communicate defects, risks, and quality concerns.
• Perform root cause analysis and support defect resolution efforts.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define quality goals and acceptance criteria.
• Support release validation, deployment testing, and post-release verification activities.
• Analyze system behavior and data to validate business processes and system integrations.
• Identify opportunities to improve test coverage through automation and reusable testing assets.
• Utilize AI-assisted testing techniques and tools to improve efficiency, quality, and productivity.
• Ensure test evidence, documentation, and deliverables meet organizational standards and compliance requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers and share testing best practices across teams.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist in defining and tracking quality metrics and reporting project test status.
