The Test Engineer is responsible for planning, executing, and supporting verification and qualification testing activities for aerospace electrical and electromechanical products. This role supports New Product Introduction (NPI), qualification, and flight-critical development programs through the development of test methods, fixtures, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to validate product performance, investigate failures, and ensure compliance with technical and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline required.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of relevant engineering or test experience preferred.
  • Candidates with an Associate’s degree in Engineering or related field combined with six (6) or more years of applicable experience will also be considered.
  • Experience supporting aerospace product development, validation, or qualification testing environments.
  • Familiarity with aerospace electrical power generation systems and associated testing methods.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and oil-cooled systems is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues.
  • Ability to communicate technical findings clearly through both written reports and verbal discussions.
  • Effective interpersonal and collaboration skills within cross-functional engineering environments.
  • Strong organizational skills with close attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Experience creating technical procedures, test instructions, and formal engineering reports preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support development and execution of prototype, development, and qualification testing activities for aerospace products and subsystems.
  • Perform testing on aerospace electronic control units, generators, rotating equipment, and related subassemblies.
  • Design, assemble, and maintain test setups, fixtures, instrumentation, and supporting hardware required for validation activities.
  • Configure and operate laboratory equipment to capture and analyze digital test data.
  • Evaluate test results, identify performance issues, and provide recommendations for corrective actions or design improvements.
  • Troubleshoot product and test system failures during development and qualification activities.
  • Collaborate with design engineering teams to establish effective test methodologies and ensure compliance with product specifications.
  • Assist with environmental, developmental, and qualification testing activities involving electrical power generation and control systems.
  • Support modifications to test stands, instrumentation, control circuitry, and automated test systems.
  • Participate in programming and configuration of computerized test systems used for test execution and data collection.
  • Prepare detailed technical documentation including test procedures, work instructions, reports, and data summaries.
  • Coordinate with facilities and operations personnel regarding installation and infrastructure support for new test equipment.
  • Maintain compliance with company safety standards and contribute to continuous improvement of environmental, health, and safety initiatives.
  • Provide support during extended work schedules or off-shift testing activities when required to meet program timelines.
  • Travel occasionally in support of testing activities, customer requirements, or supplier coordination.
  • Perform additional engineering or laboratory support tasks as assigned.
