This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. Working with a small, hardworking, and accomplished team, you will focus on developing, constructing, operating, and maintaining the Extreme Engine Experiments (XEEx) test facility. These facilities support Blue Origin engines powered by liquid propellants. You will contribute to the progress of the test stand by participating in all aspects of hands-on engineering, and project management. Furthermore, you will play a significant role in the team’s ability to meet an ambitious test cadence. Requirements

BS degree in engineering or related field
2+ years of experience in a testing environment or related hands-on engineering role
Understanding of engineering and testing fundamentals
Proven familiarity with data analysis
Understanding in technical fundamentals of fluid dynamics and thermodynamics
Project management, team leadership, and interpersonal skills
Strong technical and non-technical writing and verbal skills
Desire to take ownership of projects
Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to make quick, sound decisions in emergency situations while maintaining composure under stress
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Nice To Haves

Professional experience with gas turbine or rocket engine testing
Experience designing, fabricating, or operating fluid systems
Knowledge of instrumentation including pressure transducers, thermocouples, flow meters
Familiarity with LabVIEW, MATLAB, or other control/data acquisition software
Familiarity with CAD applications (Creo preferred)
Familiarity with performing hazard analysis in testing
Ability to remain calm under pressure and to orchestrate a team of engineers and technicians in the execution of high-consequence test operations

Responsibilities

Develop, construct, operate, and maintain test facilities to support the development and production of liquid rocket engines
Generate and implement test procedures involving high pressure inert and non-inert gas systems and cryogenic fluid systems
Review and interpret test data to assess facility health and performance both at the system and component level
Specify and procure components and materials; handle vendors and subcontractors
Plan and complete facility maintenance and construction of new facility capabilities
Contribute to schedule, configuration, quality, cost, and process safety management
Find opportunities for continuous improvements to promote workplace safety, meet demanding schedules, and secure cost savings.
