Test Engineer 1
About The Position
CSAT Solutions is seeking a Test Engineer I to support product development, product introduction, and testing operations. The role conducts functional testing of computers and components, supports new product introduction readiness and training, and helps repair technicians evaluate engineering-hold units and repeat returns. The engineer directs testing, supports test operators with test issues, and develops and validates test solutions for new product introduction platforms. The position also involves collecting and analyzing first-pass test-yield data, conducting test-gap and failure analyses, improving test software, and collaborating with quality teams. The engineer communicates test issues to customers, supports process improvements and 5S methodologies, and sets up and monitors networks while troubleshooting hardware and software issues. Additional duties include data entry, report management, personnel development, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in computer science and/or electronics/electrical engineering.
- Three to six years of relevant testing experience.
- Computer hardware and networking experience.
- Experience with .NET, SQL, and batch scripting.
- Experience with hardware diagnostic solutions.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of engineering drawings and specifications.
- Computer skills, including MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), Visio, and Project.
- Data analysis capability.
- Technical writing ability.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Nice To Haves
- Master's degree preferred.
- ASP.NET and C# experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Support new product development and introduction, time-integrated planning, and functional testing of computers and components.
- Support staffing needs and provide vision and inspiration to peers and assigned personnel.
- Support new product introduction readiness and training.
- Support repair technicians with engineering-hold units and evaluate repeat returns.
- Direct testing and support test operators in resolving test issues.
- Collect and analyze first-pass test-yield data and perform test-gap analysis.
- Evaluate and improve test software, assess return-and-repair data with the quality team, and support implementation of 5S methodologies.
- Analyze, identify, document, and communicate test issues to customers through data and failure analysis.
- Translate concepts and information for trainers, engineering technicians, and test operators to support personnel development and process improvements.
- Perform new product introduction test validation, develop test solutions for new product introduction platforms, and conduct process walkthroughs.
- Set up and monitor networks and troubleshoot hardware and software issues to ensure efficient, reliable operations.
- Perform data entry, manage reports, and work with cross-functional teams to accomplish organizational objectives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
