The primary responsibilities of the Environmental Test Engineer are conducting tests and evaluations to assess the resistance of materials/components to environmental stresses.

Requirements

  • B. S. in Mechanical Engineering
  • 0-2 years’ experience in a testing laboratory environment
  • Coursework in Dynamics
  • Hands-on, practical mindset
  • Math and science skills
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), maintain Lab ISO and process Safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Environmental qualification tests according to established testing procedures and clients’ procedures, such as: Vibration/Shock Tests, Temperature/Humidity/Altitude/Salt Fog Exposures, Other custom tests
  • Accurately record test data, observations, and results in detailed reports.
  • Troubleshoot and address any issues with testing equipment and data to maintain accuracy and reliability.
  • Ensure that all testing activities comply with industry standards, ATS’ Procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including metallurgy, chemistry, machine shop, QC, to support client needs.
  • Oversee project and work with clients to meet critical deadlines.
  • Other duties as assigned.
