About The Position

Idaho Asphalt Supply, Inc. is a leading asphalt supplier and marketer in the Inland Northwest and Pacific Northwest Regions. With plants in Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Oregon, California, and Arizona, IAS supplies a diverse product line of asphalts, polymer-modified asphalt, and asphalt emulsions to the road maintenance and construction industry. IAS is looking for an energized and flexible self-starter to fill a full-time opening for a Testing Engineer 1 at the central lab in Nampa, Idaho. Reporting to the Lab Manager, the Test Engineer 1 is responsible for lab testing, such as QA/QC testing, formulation evaluation, and new product development. This position must thrive in an environment that is mission-driven, results-driven and community oriented. The ideal individual will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative, and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities.

Requirements

• Candidates must have excellent written and oral communication skills, be computer literate, experienced in MS office software, possess solid interpersonal and analytical skills.
• Flexibility in work hours.
• Available to work overtime, weekends, and alternate work schedules, if required during peak season.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the scientific instrumentation field and plant manufacture process are desirable.
• Product testing, regulatory compliance and training experience would all be a plus but are not required.

Responsibilities

• Performs troubleshooting and maintenance of lab and key process support equipment.
• Performs a variety of engineering tasks in areas of analysis, research, design, development or testing of new products and modifications of existing products.
• Works with cross-functional groups within business including Marketing, and Manufacturing to investigate new opportunities and help solve application problems of our products.
