This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. Blue Origin is seeking an experienced Project Controls Specialist to join our Engineering Services team supporting Ground System Development and Test Capabilities Development activities. This role is essential to the engineering, procurement, construction, and activation of new test capabilities that support all of Blue Origin's business units — putting you at the forefront of building the infrastructure that powers our journey to space. In this role, you will own the full spectrum of planning, scheduling, and daily activity alignment across our group. You will lead the creation and maintenance of Integrated Master Schedules, coordinate resource loading across programs, and implement robust project controls systems. As a linchpin across the organization, you will collaborate with stakeholders across test sites, Facilities, Inventory, Technical Project Managers, Construction Managers, and Test Operations. You will be instrumental in tracking progress, identifying trends, forecasting outcomes, and providing data-driven insights that enable proactive decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in program scheduling/planning and controls in an industrial or technical environment
  • Hands-on experience creating and maintaining resource-loaded integrated master schedules using Primavera (P6), Microsoft Project, Project Server, or similar software
  • Strong understanding of scheduling best practices, including critical path methodology
  • Experience establishing new programs or performing replans of existing programs
  • Experience managing ERP/MRP systems
  • Demonstrated experience in risk, issue, and opportunity management
  • Excellent project management and prioritization skills
  • Advanced interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships across multiple teams and management levels
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Ability to work full-time; occasional travel, overtime, or on-call may be required
  • Must successfully pass a security background check to work on federal reservations

  • Industry certifications such as PMP, PSP, EVP, or CCP

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive project controls systems and integrated master schedules for Ground System and Test Capabilities Development capital projects; supply management with critical path information to ensure project timelines align with organizational resource capacity
  • Lead schedule integration efforts between multiple internal teams, external suppliers, and contractors using Microsoft Project, One Plan, and/or Primavera (P6)
  • Perform critical path analysis, facilitate schedule risk assessments, and identify schedule risks and opportunities
  • Lead schedule recovery efforts when needed by identifying bottlenecks, applying forward/reverse scheduling methods, and providing incisive "what-if" analyses to management
  • Develop earned value metrics and reporting systems; forecast cost and schedule trends with early identification of potential deviations
  • Collaborate with Operations to determine workforce needs and develop schedules based on resource and labor requirements
  • Coordinate activities with all departments and contractors, meeting customer requirements, achieving schedule accuracy, and ensuring seamless project execution
  • Support comprehensive project status reports for executive management and maintain visual status charts reflecting current program metrics
  • Perform deep-dives on schedule and scope variances; support operations execution at LC-36
  • Support change management processes with impact analyses and documentation
  • Track status and keep management informed on upcoming operations and priorities
