About The Position

We are a collaborative group focused on ensuring the reliability, quality, and efficiency of Cisco’s cutting-edge compute and cloud server technology. We work closely with hardware and software engineering and global manufacturing partners to ensure that our products meet the highest standards of performance before they reach our customers. As a Test Development Engineer, you will be a key contributor to the development and implementation of test strategy for new products. You will own the software development and test design of new product platforms, ensuring they are delivered on time and within quality specifications. You will serve as a product lead, engaging with engineering teams to gain in-depth system hardware knowledge and driving Design for Test (DFT) and DFx standards. Your work directly impacts manufacturing yield, field reliability, and the overall success of Cisco's global product deployments.

Requirements

  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship, now or in the future.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with 4+ years of related experience, or Master’s degree with 2+ years, or PhD with 1+ year of related experience.
  • Proven experience in software development and electrical design for automated test equipment.
  • Strong proficiency in Python for test automation script development.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis on manufacturing yield issues and field escapes.
  • Experience in applying DFx (Design for Excellence) standards and providing DFT feedback.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and deploy automated test platforms for Cisco's global manufacturing partners.
  • Develop robust test automation scripts using Python to streamline functional testing.
  • Generate product-specific test plans and drive comprehensive test coverage based on product requirements.
  • Analyze manufacturing yield issues and field escapes; perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to ensure test continuity.
  • Manage stakeholders and partners (CM/ODM/OEM) to provide Design for Test (DFT) feedback and ensure alignment on technical requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to gain in-depth system hardware knowledge for new product introductions.
