The System Test Design Lead (TDL) champions product calibration and test strategy while balancing tradeoffs between quality, customer experience, and operational requirements. The TDL integrates with various teams across design, software, and operations on new product definition to enable product characterization and provide efficient test solutions for high volume manufacturing. This individual is a natural leader who will thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment and significantly impact Apple’s products. Lead convergence and maturity of the product calibration and test line maturity through all engineering system build phases; see around corners, identify and assess potential risks, and develop product protection solutions. Showcase creative thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate optimally with diverse, global teams in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Electrical Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant engineering major or degree
• 5-10 years of experience
• Excellent understanding of hardware/software architecture and interoperability of sophisticated systems
• Fundamental electrical engineering knowledge is a prerequisite
• Possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills, self-motivation, drive, and attention to detail
• Experience in hardware and firmware activities such as design, bringing up, debugging, and validating circuits
• Knowledge of statistical data analysis methods

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience with integration of one or more of the following technologies: Acoustics; Display, Touch, Imaging Sensors, Motion Sensors, Automation

Responsibilities

• Lead convergence and maturity of the product calibration and test line maturity through all engineering system build phases

• Engineering build leadership, ownership for factory calibration & test strategy and bring up interfacing with factory teams
