About The Position

The System Test Design Lead champions product calibration and test strategy while balancing tradeoffs between quality, customer experience, and operational requirements. The role integrates with teams across design, software, and operations on new product definition to enable product characterization and provide efficient test solutions for high-volume manufacturing. The successful candidate is a natural leader who can thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and significantly impact Apple’s products.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant engineering major or degree.
• 5–10 years of experience.
• Excellent understanding of hardware/software architecture and interoperability of sophisticated systems.
• Fundamental electrical engineering knowledge.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-motivation, drive, and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree in Electrical Design.
• Prior experience integrating one or more of the following technologies: acoustics, display, touch, imaging sensors, motion sensors, or automation.
• Experience with hardware and firmware activities, such as design, bring-up, debugging, and circuit validation.
• Engineering build leadership.
• Ownership of factory calibration and test strategy, including bring-up and interfacing with factory teams.
• Knowledge of statistical data analysis methods.
• Willingness to travel internationally 5–10% of the time in trips lasting 10–12 days.
