This position will require travel to our Southern sites which will include Bridgewater, Framingham, and Norfolk. Requirements
- High School Diploma.
- Phlebotomy training and competency required.
- Must have current CPR certification and maintain any certifications required by contract.
- Knowledge and experience in areas of patient care practices, microbiology, asepsis, disinfecting/sterilization, adult education, infectious diseases, communication, program administration, and epidemiology.
Nice To Haves
- Five (3) or more years of clinical experience preferred.
- Attends a Department of Public Health (DPH) training curriculum within the first year of entering the profession, preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provides information to patients during the initial orientation regarding HIV/HCV testing services available.
- Conducts admission and transfer orientation when needed.
- Provides individual pre- and post-test counseling for patients who have requested testing.
- Collects blood samples for HIV/HCV testing, via the DPH state lab.
- Provides referrals to ID Case Manager of new diagnoses.
- Maintains accurate records and ensures confidentiality.
- Provides monthly reports of activity to ID Program Manager.
- Facilitates Health Awareness and Peer Education groups.
- Attends conferences and in-service training sessions.
- Performs other duties as assigned to meet program and facility needs.
