Requirements

  • Vocational or technical degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent experience
  • 0-2 years experience in an engineering technician role or relevant educational background
  • Willingness to work 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift operations
  • Proficiency in both oral and written business communication
  • Basic knowledge of automatic transmission operation, clutches, controls (both hydraulic and electrical), hydraulics, and gears
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Basic mechanical proficiency
  • Proficiency with computer operation, including Microsoft Office tools

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering Technology
  • 3 years of proven experience in engineering technician role
  • Statistical training
  • Programming in C-based languages
  • Electric, Hydrogen, hybrid, and emission testing

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of test programs.
  • Performing test setup, instrumentation, operation, and equipment maintenance.
  • Working closely with Test Engineers to prepare and communicate test data for analysis and reporting.
  • Assisting in the designing and planning of test setup.
  • Implementing test bench and/or test cell setup, including instrumentation and hardware installation.
  • Conducting testing per plan, verify data accuracy, and prepare results for reporting.
  • Assuring accurate calibration of instrumentation vital in collecting test data.
  • Preparing prototypes of components assemblies and systems of either new or current products as advised by policies and procedures or written test plans or work requests.
  • Implementing and actively support safety policies and initiatives.
  • Participating in program planning and/or status meetings.
  • Collaborating with the supervisor about all ongoing projects with regard to project status, completion time projections and any problems that may have arisen during the course of the project.
  • Observing applicable procedures and practices as delineated in Test Operations Manual, PE Procedures, and Standard Procedures.
