About The Position

Noblis seeks a Test Bed Systems Engineer / Software Developer to provide systems engineering management support for the Department of War (DoW). This position delivers hands-on systems engineering, software development, and technical coordination across the full Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive (CBRNE) and Weapons of Mass Destruction / Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD/CWMD) mission space. The role requires field test operations. This is an onsite role at Kirtland AFB, New Mexico.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in systems engineering, software development, or test and evaluation within the defense or CBRNE domain
  • Demonstrated software development proficiency in languages and tools applicable to test automation, data analysis, and systems modeling
  • Capable of working/entering permit-required confined spaces as an entrant and/or rescue
  • Capable of performing work in areas with exposure to heavy construction, confined space environments, and in underground tunnels and target structures
  • US Citizen with a Top Secret clearance, and ability to obtain TS/SCI

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with WMD Defeat and Hard Target Defeat (HTD) weapon systems analysis
  • OSHA Permit-Required Confined Space Training
  • OSHA 510 (Construction), 511 (General Industry), and 7405 (Fall Protection) training — or Occupational Safety degree or Associate (or higher) Safety Professional credential
  • OSHA Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) 40-hour Training
  • Experience with Nuclear Fuel Cycle testing or radiological source handling
  • Experience developing software for test instrumentation, sensor data fusion, or real-time data acquisition systems

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver Statement of Test Objectives (SOTO), Test Requirements Document (TRD), Test Design Document (TDD), and Test Execution Document (TEP) by analyzing CBRNE technology specifications to define test objectives and parameters
  • Develop software tools, scripts, and applications to support systems engineering analysis, test data processing, and performance measurement of weapon system technologies across the WMD/CWMD spectrum
  • Develop system engineering standards to measure the effectiveness of weapon system technologies against targets within the full WMD and C-WMD spectrum
  • Perform systems engineering assessments supporting Nuclear Fuel Cycle testing events and improvised explosive device (IED) pre- and post-detonation operations
  • Perform targeting assistance with national technical means support to WMD/CWMD testing
  • Perform systems engineering analysis to homemade explosives testing, defining capabilities and gaps supporting the WMD mission space
  • Develop trade-off analyses to enhance performance while minimizing cost and programmatic risk, identifying weapon system requirements for capability gaps/shortfalls and developing technology maturation roadmaps
  • Perform test bed/test article preparation and verification consistent with test design and requirements documents; serve as on-site point of contact (POC) for technical issues
  • Develop and maintain software solutions that automate test data collection, analysis workflows, and report to improve operational efficiency
