About The Position

The Quality Automation Engineer is responsible for building quality directly into products through automation, risk‑based testing, and close collaboration with Product, Design, and Engineering. This role focuses on preventing defects early, validating customer outcomes, and protecting customer trust—rather than relying on manual inspection or late‑stage signoff. Quality Automation Engineers operate as product engineers with a quality specialty, contributing hands‑on to product discovery, development, delivery, and continuous improvement using automation as the primary quality mechanism.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience in a product‑centric delivery model.
  • 3+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, Test Automation, or Software Engineering with a quality focus.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with modern test automation frameworks and tools for UI and API testing.
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and modern continuous delivery practices.
  • Solid understanding of system design principles, APIs, and distributed systems.
  • Experience applying risk‑based testing approaches to balance coverage, speed, and confidence.
  • Ability to clearly communicate quality risks, trade‑offs, and outcomes to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain automated tests across the product stack, including unit, integration, contract, and end‑to‑end testing.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers throughout discovery and delivery to embed quality early.
  • Identify and assess quality risks proactively, escalating issues with clear impact and mitigation options.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to provide fast, reliable feedback on every change.
  • Reduce reliance on manual testing by expanding automation coverage and improving test effectiveness.
  • Perform root cause analysis on defects and test failures, driving corrective and preventive actions.
  • Contribute to shared test frameworks, tools, standards, and patterns that improve quality at scale.

Benefits

  • Paid time off based on employee grade (A-F), defined by policy: Vacation: 12-25 days, depending on grade, Company paid holidays, Personal Days, Sick Leave
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage (or provincial healthcare coordination in Canada)
