About The Position

TISTA Science and Technology is seeking a Test Automation Engineer to join its growing team. The role performs software testing and test automation, supporting mission-driven work. The position is remote in the United States. The engineer develops test plans, cases, and scripts from user stories and acceptance criteria; builds and maintains automated test suites that run in CI/CD; performs functional, integration, regression, and Section 508 testing; supports UAT; maintains requirements traceability; logs defects in VA tools; and reports test results and coverage for release readiness. The job is described at Mid and Journeyman levels, with different experience requirements for each. The suggested pay range is $95,546 to $105,875. Actual salary offers consider skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Certain positions may also be eligible for bonuses. Requirements

Mid level: 5+ years in software testing, including 3+ years of automation experience.
Journeyman level: 2+ years in software testing.
Experience creating test plans, cases, and scripts from user stories and managing defects.
Bachelor's degree.
Must be able to obtain a Tier 2 / Moderate Risk Public Trust and a VA PIV credential.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or Postman in CI/CD.
Experience with a requirements traceability matrix in Jira Xray or VA Quality Manager.
Section 508 testing and UAT support experience.
ISTQB Agile Tester certification.
Section 508 Trusted Tester certification.

Responsibilities

Write test plans, cases, and scripts from user stories and acceptance criteria.
Build and maintain automated test suites using Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or Postman that run in CI/CD.
Run functional, integration, regression, and Section 508 testing, and support UAT.
Maintain the requirements traceability matrix and log defects in VA tools.
