About The Position

The Test and Evaluation Engineer works on a multidisciplinary product team supporting Department of Navy software and related products, systems, subsystems, support equipment, hardware assemblies, and technical documentation. The role plans, conducts, documents, and improves engineering test and evaluation activities, working directly for the Product Owner in a SAFe Agile delivery environment. The engineer translates product objectives, user needs, system requirements, and acceptance criteria into measurable test activities and objective evidence to support technical decisions, product increments, configuration-control decisions, and government acceptance. Responsibilities span engineering, testing, logistics, configuration management, fabrication, documentation, and stakeholder coordination to help ensure delivered capabilities are technically sound, traceable to approved requirements, supportable, and ready for operational use. The role includes creating test plans and cases from user stories, carrying out manual and automated testing, analyzing and documenting results, communicating defects, automating continuous security and performance testing, and monitoring system health.
