About The Position

Canvas is seeking a qualified individual to support the Air Force at the Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC) at Arnold AFB, TN. The candidate will execute a wide range of technical tasks including test planning and execution, data collection and analysis, and reporting, in the following areas: Hypervelocity effects testing, Space environment simulation and effects testing, EO/IR signature measurement collection and analysis, and Modeling and simulation of EO/IR data. The role involves working with nominal supervision in performing various technical tasks, assisting in coordination and generation of requirements and analysis objectives, measures of performance, and success criteria. The candidate will support the creation of Technical, Safety, and Readiness Review Boards presentation material and other required project documentation, and support test execution in various technical areas. This may include deploying as part of a small team to test areas outside AEDC for periods typically from 1 to 2 weeks with responsibility for application of one or more instruments to collect signature data on target(s) of interest. The role requires learning and effectively using a variety of government and in-house simulation codes and analysis tools, performing in-depth analysis of test data to meet analysis objectives, and performing engineering analysis and modeling functions on measured EO/IR signature data. Setup and execution of software simulations and complete comparative analysis of simulation results, as well as comparative analyses of measured data and model results are also key responsibilities. The candidate will prepare quick-look reports and detailed technical reports to document test planning, data processing, analysis, conclusions, and recommendations. They will help ensure assigned projects remain consistent with program objectives, costs, schedules, performance criteria, and existing policies. The role requires working in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing work to balance multiple projects and deadlines, and collaborating effectively with senior staff and peers, communicating clearly and concisely in both oral and written formats.
