About The Position

Alta Material Handling is seeking a full-time Territory Sales Representative reporting to our Dorval, QC branch. The Territory Sales Manager has a crucial role of driving sales growth and expanding the company's market presence within your assigned territory. The primary responsibilities of the position consist of, but are not limited to:

Requirements

  • At least three (3) years’ experience in a similar equipment sales role dealing with business decision makers in the market
  • Verifiable track record of achieving revenue targets
  • Experience managing a high volume of accounts
  • A driven, hardworking Sales Representative who brings a positive attitude to the workplace and places customers first
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite

Nice To Haves

  • A University or College Education preferred but not mandatory
  • Sales and Account Management training is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Sales Development: As a Sales representative, you will report directly to the Sales Manager and focus on new sales development and cultivating relationships with new and existing customers to increase sales volume. You will be responsible for achieving company sales targets and objectives by offering a full range of Material Handling solutions.
  • Territory Management: Manage all aspects of your assigned territory, including cold calling and prospecting for new business opportunities, and maintaining relationships with existing customers.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers by providing excellent customer service, understanding their needs, and offering solutions that meet their requirements.
  • Sales Forecasting and Reporting: Provide regular sales performance reports to management on sales activities, market trends, and competitor activities.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams such as marketing, product development, and customer service to ensure a coordinated approach to sales and customer support within your territory.
  • Personal Training and Development: Self-improvement and continual training is crucial to sales within your territory ensuring the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively sell company's products or services.
  • Market Awareness: Monitor competitor activities and market trends within your territory to identify opportunities and threats. Use this information to adjust sales strategies and tactics as needed.
  • Travel: Travel within your territory (min. 3 days/ week) to meet with customers, attend trade shows, and participate in industry events as required.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously seek ways to improve sales performance and efficiency within your territory. This may involve implementing new sales tools or techniques, providing feedback to management on product or service offerings, and participating in professional development activities.
