About The Position

Ecolab is seeking a Territory Sales and Service Representative to join their team in the Portland, ME market. This role involves managing a territory, servicing laundry and dish machines, dispensing equipment and systems, and selling new solutions to customers to help achieve a cleaner, safer, and healthier environment. The position is field-based and requires travel within an assigned territory after an initial training program. The training program includes 2 weeks at Ecolab Corporate Headquarters in Eagan, Minnesota, with travel and expenses covered by Ecolab. After training, the representative will manage, service, and sell to established customers including restaurants, hotels, schools, and long-term care facilities. In some cases, associates may be assigned a supporting role until a territory becomes available.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of sales, mechanical service, customer service, food service or hospitality industry-related experience
  • Availability to work overnight shifts and provide emergency assistance which may occur at night, on weekends and over holidays
  • Position requires a current and valid Driver’s License with no restrictions
  • No Immigration Sponsorship available for this position
  • Lifting 50 lbs

  • Availability to work overtime
  • Driving a company vehicle as required to perform job duties (pre-employment and ongoing motor vehicle record checks will be performed to determine eligibility to drive a company vehicle)

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree or other advanced training or certifications
  • Previous mechanical problem-solving experience (e.g. plumbing, electrical, HVAC and/or mechanical experience) in industries related to food service, laundry, housekeeping, hospitality and/or pool and spa

Responsibilities

  • Leverage tools and technology (including tablet and mobile phone apps) to conduct customer visits and recommend unique programs and solutions to customers
  • Communicate total value to the customer to meet their needs and grow sales within existing customer accounts
  • Use problem-solving skills to conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on laundry and dish machines, dispensing equipment, and systems
  • Provide emergency service to existing customers via phone or in person, as needed
  • Assist in the installation of equipment and solutions
  • Demonstrate safe equipment use, ensuring customers' operations are fully functional
  • Manage equipment, parts, and inventory to control costs
