About The Position

Emery Jensen Distribution, a subsidiary of Ace Hardware Corporation, is seeking a Territory Manager for the Northeast Region. This role is responsible for growing profitable sales with current and new customers in the hardlines and pro lumber industry. The Territory Manager will focus on increasing sales through various programs, analyzing retailer needs to develop specific sales strategies, and managing customer relationships as the liaison between the customer and Emery Jensen Distribution. Attendance at industry-related trade shows may be required.

Requirements

Motivated self-starter and results-oriented individual focused on solutions based on customers' needs.
5 years of B2B sales experience preferred.
Hardware sales and pro lumber experience a plus.
Excellent listening and negotiating skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong strategic thinking abilities with an emphasis on developing a sales growth plan and the ability to ensure implementation.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and opportunities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Extensive travel required including overnight travel.
Valid driver's license required.
BA/BS degree or equivalent preferred.
Must have valid driver's license and a good driving record.
Road warrior (at minimum 3 days per week by plane or car).
Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Required to stand, walk, sit, climb a ladder, and talk or hear.
The employee is often required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

Deliver annual sales and profit objectives by developing a strategic sales plan.
Develop and foster strong business relationships with owners and key decision makers.
Visit core customers at a minimum every 30 days.
Organize and prioritize weekly customer sales routes and calls.
Input leads, new business opportunities, prospect and core store visits every Friday at noon into Salesforce.
Obtain a minimum of 1-2 prospect visits per week.
Complete an average of 8-10 store visits weekly.
Represent Emery Jensen Distribution professionally and ethically.
Effectively communicate with the Emery Jensen Leadership Team regarding successes and challenges.
Effectively communicate with the internal Sales Support Team, the Care Center, and other internal business partners to resolve customer issues.
Collaborate and communicate with Emery Jensen Distribution team members to share ideas and sales successes.
Display sound judgment in relation to expenses (travel and entertainment, car, etc.).
