About The Position

The Territory Manager (TM) position in the Home Improvement Segment at Sashco is responsible for leveraging the company's value proposition, including its high-performance positioning, merchandising collateral, marketing, and promotional programs, to increase the placement and sell-through of Sashco's brands. This role involves working with both existing and new customers within the Northwest territory, which includes Washington, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Wyoming. TMs are expected to spend approximately 75% of their work time on the road. The role offers opportunities for skill development and contributions beyond daily tasks, with significant rewards for success. The first six months involve a robust onboarding and training program covering customers, systems, processes, and products, followed by achieving proficiency and mastery of TM skills, assuming territory ownership, attending industry events, and integrating with the sales and marketing teams.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of outside sales / territory management experience.
  • BS/BA in Business or related field (or additional years of industry experience in lieu of degree).
  • Clean driving record.
  • CRM experience.
  • Technology proficiency: Smart phone and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point).
  • Effective communication skills demonstrating tact, empathy, and respect.
  • Strong attention to detail for CRM maintenance, orders, and reports.

Nice To Haves

  • Channel experience and existing relationships (hardware, lumber, building materials).
  • Salesforce experience.
  • Advanced Excel acumen.
  • Passion for home improvement projects.
  • Experience with lean and/or process improvement methods.
  • Formal Sales Training (especially Challenger).

Responsibilities

  • Leverage Sashco’s value proposition to increase placement and sell-through of brands.
  • Manage existing and new customers within the Northwest territory.
  • Spend approximately 75% of work time on the road.
  • Attend industry events and buying markets aligned with the strategic plan.
  • Integrate with the sales & marketing team and other teams within Sashco.
  • Assume ownership of territory and assigned direct accounts.
  • Maintain CRM, process orders, and generate reports.
