About The Position
Join US Foods as a Territory Manager and play a pivotal role in shaping customer relationships and driving business growth. This role involves nurturing existing accounts and seeking new business opportunities within the foodservice industry. US Foods is a leading food distributor offering a wide range of products and services designed to enhance client profitability, with a strong emphasis on exceptional customer service. The company provides a comprehensive training program, including coaching, sales tools, and mentoring, to ensure the long-term success of its Territory Managers. This position will cover the Southern Illinois area, including Marion, Carbondale, Herrin, and West Frankfort.
Requirements
- 1+ year of sales experience preferred.
- HS Diploma or equivalent.
- A valid driver’s license is required, and motor vehicle record must be in good standing.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and presentation abilities.
- Ability to build internal and external relationships and cold call to develop new business.
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
- A competitive spirit with a drive to exceed goals.
- Problem-solving ability / organization and negotiation skills.
- Team-up mentality to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 75 lbs.
Nice To Haves
- Foodservice industry/culinary/restaurant management/hospitality experience preferred.
- CRM tools like Salesforce is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Own and nurture customer relationships in a team-based selling model.
- Educate customers on ordering platforms and provide menu consultations, product recommendations, and pricing strategies.
- Drive sales by selling to customers, increasing case growth, and acquiring new business through impactful sales presentations and tailored sales approaches.
- Manage time and territory effectively.
- Collaborate with Specialists for top penetration opportunities and new account openings.
- Work closely with marketing, supply chain, and customer service to ensure seamless product delivery.
- Develop new business by identifying prospective customers using market intelligence databases, business directories, and leads from existing clients.
- Participate in organizations and clubs, and attend trade shows and conferences to identify new business opportunities.
- Manage deliveries according to the routing schedule and troubleshoot any problems during the order process.
- Stay informed about market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' products, prices, and sales, sharing this information with customers.
- Drive a personal vehicle to conduct regular check-ins, site visits, and follow-ups to ensure customer satisfaction.
