About The Position

Shawgrass, a key provider in the artificial turf industry and an affiliate of Shaw Industries (a Berkshire Hathaway Inc. company), is seeking a dynamic Territory Manager for the Central and Northern Florida region. This role is responsible for driving growth and strengthening relationships through proactive outreach, including cold calling, cultivating partnerships, and daily sales calls. The Territory Manager will present innovative products and solutions to landscape contractors, dealers, distributors, installers, and other stakeholders, requiring strong business development skills, a passion for uncovering opportunities, and awareness of regional market trends.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • 3+ years B2B sales or adjacent industry experience required
  • Up to 50% travel required
  • Must reside within Central Florida

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Living in the greater Tampa area
  • Familiar with construction and project management processes
  • Knowledge of the landscape turf industry, or hardscapes industry

Responsibilities

  • Work with landscape architects, dealers, installers, distributors, contractors, etc. to select appropriate products for their projects and resale that fit within their usage requirements, budget and time frame.
  • Travel throughout assigned area to call on existing customers and prospect new customers to solicit business.
  • Must be motivated and comfortable working and supporting a closely knit team environment.
  • Must be able and competent to work with and manage customer base thru CRM ( Customer Relationship Management) tool such as Salesforce.com
  • Follow up on a variety of leads from sources such as Dodge, isquarefoot.com, and networking groups
  • Build relationships with existing and new customers by entertaining such as lunches, dinners or special events.
  • Attend Regional and National Conventions when required
  • Implement the selling process in his/her area; must have the ability to make good judgment decisions.
  • Have a full understanding of the product line and the application that each product serves.
  • Interface/communicate with a diverse group of customers in a friendly and respectable manner.
  • Possess a flexible personality and be able to communicate clearly to other persons, both orally and in written form.
  • Give effective presentations to all potential customers to educate them on the turf industry and how Shawgrass can benefit them on their projects.
