About The Position

Wausau Tile is seeking a hardworking, energetic, quality-driven, and safety-minded individual to join our Precast Terrazzo Finishing Department. This role requires an individual who is comfortable working independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have experience with or be willing to learn a variety of finishing processes and equipment to meet customer specifications, quality standards, and product requirements.

Responsibilities

• Patching & Repairs: Use specialized concrete or epoxy mixes to fill imperfections left by the casting process. Sand each piece by hand or using an orbital sander to ensure a smooth surface.
• Grouting/Cab-o-sil: Apply thin grout or cab-o-sil mixtures to fill small holes. Once dried, sand the surface for a flawless finish.
• Modifications & Enhancements: Add attributes that cannot be cast (e.g., anti-slip strips, logos, custom edges). Use tools such as circular saws, drills, sanders, and grinders to modify products as needed. Problem-solving and initiative are required to address unique product challenges.
• Sealing: Prepare and apply sealant to products using a pneumatic or pump sprayer according to specifications. Clean and wipe down products before applying the seal.
• Packaging: Finish and package smaller epoxy products. Fabricate custom wood containers for shipping by cutting plywood with a table saw and other tools. Efficiently pack finished products for shipment.
