About The Position

We are seeking a hands-on Terraform engineer with proven experience automating network infrastructure. This is a fast-start engagement, ideal for a consultant who can step in immediately and deliver working automation with minimal ramp-up time. This role is strictly focused on LAN and WAN network device automation and configuration. No cloud platforms will be used or required on this engagement.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience using Terraform for network device automation, not just cloud infrastructure
• Strong LAN and WAN automation and configuration expertise is required
• Working knowledge of networking concepts including routing, switching, VLANs, and device configuration
• Familiarity with Terraform providers relevant to networking equipment (for example Cisco, Arista, Juniper, or similar)
• Comfortable working in a version controlled environment (Git)
• Ability to work independently and deliver against a compressed timeline
• Must be willing to work West Coast Hours / PST

Nice To Haves

• Prior consulting or contract-based delivery experience
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure automation
• Familiarity with network automation tools beyond Terraform (Ansible, NAPALM, or similar)

Responsibilities

• Design and build Terraform modules to automate deployment and configuration of network devices
• Integrate Terraform with network device providers and APIs
• Translate manual network configuration processes into repeatable Infrastructure as Code
• Validate, test, and troubleshoot Terraform plans and applies against live network environments
• Document module structure, variables, and usage for the client team
• Collaborate with network and infrastructure teams to confirm requirements and scope
