Nice To Haves

  • Customer Relations: When working at a customer's location, the Termite technician represents RIGO PEST. You must be polite, professional, and friendly. Customers are sometimes distressed by their pest problems or upset because a prior treatment failed to eliminate the pest. Technicians must be courteous, tactful, and clear when communicating pest management solutions to customers.
  • Teamwork: Technicians work as a team, treating each other with respect and putting the team's needs over their own. Technicians need to be flexible and anticipate their schedules could be interrupted if management determines help is needed elsewhere. Friendly, respectful communication is a must to ensure effective teamwork.
  • Attention to Detail: Termite technicians must pay careful attention to details. Some infestations leave only slight signs that can be observed without extensive intrusion. Chemicals and products need to be handled and applied with care. Technicians must submit a report to their customers and obtain a record for employers detailing the chemicals used and where they were applied.
  • Physical Abilities: Technicians are physically active for much of their workday, frequently walking, climbing, kneeling, stooping, and crawling. Most of the Termite treatment is performed outdoors, subjecting the technician to temperature extremes. Termite technicians need both physical strength and stamina.
  • Reasoning Skills: To complete a job successfully, the technician must first identify the type of pest, where it is concentrated, and the best method to eliminate it. Physical evidence is sometimes hard to detect. The technician must apply logic based on available clues to decide which pest is present. If multiple treatment options exist, he must determine the best method for the particular circumstances. Termite technicians must also evaluate potential costs and damages weighed against potential benefits.
  • Driving Skills: Typically, pest control technicians must drive from customer to customer, often in a truck bearing special equipment and chemicals. Technicians must maintain a clean driving record and practice safe driving skills to keep themselves and those around them safe.
