About The Position

A growing Philadelphia area stevedore and terminal operating company is seeking a highly motivated individual to work as Terminal Superintendent. Successful candidate must be able to work in a fast paced, drug free environment. Candidate will have to direct, supervise, and assign work to ILA Longshoremen preforming terminal port operations. Candidate will also monitor truck loading and unloading of break bulk and containerized freight to meet all safety and productivity standards, monitor employee attendance, and resolve personnel issues. Candidate will also coordinate with other internal Company Departments, as well as Government Agencies. Individuals should possess the following qualities: Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail. Ability to solve problems, look ahead to avoid problems, and follow through to completion. Must be a team player with a positive attitude and have the ability to supervise and direct groups of individuals. Must be able to assume a leadership role and participate in safety program. Ability to coordinate with internal departments, customers and their agents, and vendors. Good correspondence and computer skills (Word, Excel, and Lotus Notes) with the ability to learn in house network. Ability to work night and weekend shifts when required. Must be able to obtain a TWIC card Second and third shift positions are available.
