About The Position

Plastic Express has been serving the plastics industry with bulk trucking, bulk terminal, packaging, and warehousing solutions since 1970. With a vast network of facilities, including over 40 bulk terminals and 52 railcar terminals across the country, we leverage our rail infrastructure for imports, exports, and regional distribution. We also handle non-plastic commodities like paper rolls, steel, and building materials. Our fleet of approximately 250 trucks and 250 trailers supports our full bulk truck distribution business. Requirements

  • At least 21 years old.
  • Must read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Must be familiar with the use of Email, Microsoft Word & Microsoft Excel.
  • Must have reliable means of transportation.
  • Must be able and comfortable working outside in all weather conditions as needed.
  • Must be able to walk, bend, reach, push, pull, stoop, squat, and climb.
  • Minimum education required is a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong attention to detail is necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Railcar experience is a plus.
  • Rail King certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performing essential rail functions in a safety-sensitive and production environment.
  • Maintaining property and equipment preservation at each location, including groundskeeping.
  • Pulling samples of material, documenting, and storing them properly.
  • Inspecting all inbound and outbound railcars daily and reporting major issues immediately.
  • Performing inventory data entry.
  • Providing coverage for other sites/employees.
  • Checking in trans-load truck(s) and scaling as needed (site-specific).
  • Keeping accurate records of daily spreadsheets (site-specific).
  • Conducting inbound rail car sampling.
  • Performing immediate material loss cleanup and proper disposal.
  • Operating with company-issued PPE at all times.
  • Properly using company-issued electronic devices such as radios, tablets, and printers.
  • Properly using company-issued cell phone (site-specific).
