About The Position
POET is seeking Terminal Operators in the Savannah, GA area to support the safe and efficient movement of dried distillers’ grains, which are essential products that power agriculture and are exported to over 20 countries worldwide. This is a hands-on, fast-paced opportunity where your work makes a global impact. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:45 AM - 4:30 PM, with occasional weekend and holiday work required, including overtime and holiday pay. The starting pay is $19 per hour with potential bonus opportunities each pay period.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Willing and able to meet call-in requirements and work extended hours as necessary
- Willing and able to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to understand the technical and day-to-day operation of a transload facility
- Willingness to obtain DOT certification
- Excellent organization and time management skills with a sense of urgency that drives results
- Knowledge of the basics of the Microsoft Office Suite and the ability of learning new programs
Nice To Haves
- Experience in truck loading and unloading, including rail tank car or grain hopper and tanker truck preferred
- Already possess DOT certification
Responsibilities
- Unload railcars filled with feed into shipping containers using mechanical equipment
- Operate large machinery and equipment
- Ensure safe, accurate, and on-time shipment handling
- Maintain and execute grain operation processes, including repair and maintenance
- Maintain a clean work area and participate in daily housekeeping of the facility
- Work as part of a tight-knit, safety-first operations team
