About The Position

The Terminal Operator is responsible for a variety of tasks including performing preventive maintenance on buildings and equipment, adhering to safety regulations, conducting physical inventory of terminal equipment, loading and unloading equipment, performing yard tasks such as grounding containers, operating heavy equipment, communicating safety concerns, interacting with yard/warehouse personnel, performing general tasks like furniture assembly and repairs, ensuring inventory and data entry accuracy, assisting with maintenance repairs, coordinating with other departments, attending meetings, and performing other assigned duties.

Must function and interact daily with Yard/ Warehouse personnel and comply with plant safety requirements.

Responsibilities

Performs preventive building and equipment maintenance duties.
Follows all OSHA safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adheres to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook.
Performs physical inventory of all terminal Equipment at the assigned yard.
Load and unload Equipment going inbound and outbound.
Perform yard tasks such as grounding of containers.
Operate heavy Equipment such as forklifts and yard mule truck, and top loader.
Promptly communicate all safety related issues and concerns.
Must function and interact daily with Yard/ Warehouse personnel and comply with plant safety requirements.
Various general tasks as assigned, to include assembling and moving furniture and office equipment, set up and break down of furniture, replacing doorknobs/locks, repairs to door closures and/or walls, and painting of interior walls.
Ensures quality and accuracy of all terminal equipment inventory, gate and data entry work by regularly auditing all data processed by the staff and implementing checking mechanisms and quality controls.
Assists with a variety of general maintenance repairs, including but not limited to installing or warehouse racks, hanging safety signs, installing shelving and other equipment as needed in offices, warehouses, yards or in or around shop.
Coordinates with other departments in other related matters.
Attend organizational meetings and represent the terminal & data entry department in committees and initiatives.
