The Terminal Operator moves product in and out of the terminal in a timely, cost-effective, and safe manner. This role involves receiving product, monitoring vessel unloading, coordinating truck deliveries, and dispatching trucks to customers. The operator will also load customer trucks, arrange for product delivery, and use computer systems programmed to run equipment for loading. Contacting outside carriers for deliveries, generating bills of lading, and processing invoices using the SAP billing system are also key functions. The position requires assisting the Terminal Manager with daily office activities and special projects, monitoring product load-out, and potentially being on call for customer issues outside of normal operating hours and on weekends. Daily reconciliation of shipping reports and maintenance/repair of equipment and facilities through preventive maintenance are essential. This includes troubleshooting, disassembling, repairing, and re-assembling equipment using hand tools, and performing minor rail car repairs. The role also involves ensuring the terminal complies with safety and environmental standards and maintaining the general appearance of the facility through janitorial and landscaping duties.
